Two days of events of honor and memory to Ioannis Kapodistrias

The annual events of honor and memory of the first governor of Greece, Ioannis Kapodistrias, will take place on the weekend of September 28 & 29, 2024, in Nafplion.

On Saturday at 6 pm in the Parliament, there will be an anniversary Event of Memory and Honor for Governor Ioannis Kapodistrias, in the context of the 19th period of the Nafplion International Meetings.
The event will be graced by:

- D. Orfanos, Mayor of Nafplion.
-Mr Stefan Estermann, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation.
-Mrs Tamara Weingerl Požar, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the Hellenic Republic.
- A.I. D. Metaxas, Honorary Professor of the Kapodistrian University of Athens, President of the Ionian Academy 1808.

After the greetings, the keynote speaker, Professor P. Kitromilidis, Academician, will develop the topic. "Ioannis Kapodistrias and Political Theory".

Then, at 7 pm in the same place, there will be a ceremony for the awarding of "Ioannis Kapodistrias" Excellence Awards and "Anastassios Polyzoidis" awards
- George Tercetis".

The events in memory of the first Governor will continue on Sunday, September 29 at 10:30 in the morning with a memorial service at the Historical Church of Agios Spyridon in Nafplion, in the presence of civil and military authorities.
At 11:00 a.m., wreaths will be laid at Andriantas of the First Governor, in Kapodistria Square.

The "Ioannis Kapodistrias" Federation of Associations of Corfu Attica.
