Municipality of Nafplion World Animal Day 2024

On Friday, October 4, 2024, World Animal Day, the Municipality of Nafplio is organizing an event dedicated to our four-legged friends, in the Three Admirals Square in Nafplio, from 10:00 in the morning, in order to strengthen the promotion of messages to society about the importance of protection of animals, as a sign of culture.

As part of the celebration, Deputy Mayor Sofia Xydi, responsible for the care of stray animals, and the volunteers of the action will be in Trion Navarchon square, sterilizing, vaccinating, marking stray pets free of charge. At the same time, the participants will have the opportunity to be informed by the veterinarians Ioannis Katsambis and Kaikilia Sarris as well as the trainer Dimitrios Korolis. Our little friends will have fun with balloon constructions, Face painting, while visitors will admire the children's paintings on the theme "Animals are our friends".

The Mayor of Nafplion, Dimitrios Orfanos, expresses the thanks of the local community to the representatives of the voluntary action, pointing out at the same time that respect for animals is imperative and should be a characteristic of every active citizen, who respects the tradition and culture of his place. At the same time, he emphasizes that our society, at every opportunity, must broadcast messages of culture, messages of love and protection of animals.
