Kantia beach sits about 17 kilometers from Nafplio, between Drepano and Iria. At roughly 4 kilometers long, it's large enough to fit everything: from the most popular, busy beach bar to completely quiet, almost private corners.
How to get there
Follow the road from Nafplio toward Epidaurus, turn toward Tolo-Drepano, and continue toward Kantia-Iria. The beach is reachable on foot if you're staying in the village of Kantia, or by car from surrounding areas, with free parking running along its entire length.
What you'll find there
Most visitors head straight to the beach's best-known beach bar and never go further. But walk a little more and you'll find more family-oriented spots with sunbeds on sand mixed with fine pebbles — perfect for sandcastle building or beach volleyball. Tamarisk trees grow along the shore, and many people tie hammocks to them for an afternoon siesta.
If you're after more privacy, walk to the far end of the beach, just before the small marsh — there you'll find space away from the beach bars, ideal if you bring your own umbrella.
Something less known: at the estuary of the Asklipios springs on Kantia beach, sea turtles and many fish species live — worth remembering if you go snorkeling.
